Meet Your Makler

02

Meet Your Makler is a platform designed to take the stress and guesswork out of choosing a real estate agent. What made this project unique was its mission: build something that feels modern, honest, and effortless for users aged 45–65 — a group often left behind by confusing, outdated digital platforms. This was about more than design; it was about rebuilding trust in an industry where it’s often missing.

The Challenge

Our goal was to design a product that felt familiar, honest, and easy to use. Key challenges included:

  • Building trust in a low-trust industry with no existing brand reputation

  • Creating an intuitive platform for two very different audiences: homeowners and real estate agents

  • Designing for an older user base (45–65), requiring extra attention to clarity, accessibility, and simplicity

  • Working across multiple time zones

Process

We began with deep research into user pain points and competitor platforms. Then, I mapped out clean user flows in Figma and led all design execution through asynchronous collaboration with a junior designer in South America, the founder and a developer in Europe.

We worked in 24-hour cycles using Trello, sharing updates across time zones and constantly refining the experience with feedback from the founder. The focus was always on simplicity: fewer steps, clear language, larger buttons, and easy navigation..

Solution

Clear dual entry points for Buyers and Agents — giving each group a focused experience from the start

  • Simple navigation and layout built for ease of use on desktop and mobile

  • Modern, trustworthy visual design with neutral tones, friendly language, and real human imagery

  • Easy-to-read agent profiles featuring verified reviews, transparent fees, and service areas

  • Quick search and filtering tools that let users find what they need in seconds

  • Internal tools that allow the future MYM team to manage users, agent data, and leads efficiently

Outcome

Meet Your Makler is preparing to launch in Fall 2025 as a platform that simplifies the agent selection process, especially for older users. The design puts people first, making every step feel smooth, transparent, and supported.

Key Takeaways:

  • Design for trust first: Visual clarity and transparency helped build instant credibility

  • Two audiences, one experience: By clearly separating buyer and agent flows, we reduced confusion and improved engagement

  • Accessibility matters: Older users responded positively to larger buttons, fewer steps and clicks, and clean layouts

  • Real feedback = real results: Focus groups shaped design direction, helping us meet users where they are

Customer Review

"Often, a five-star rating seems to be kinda odd. How can his work be "perfect"? There must be something that went wrong. Sorry to disappoint you. Juan is the man if you want to accomplish something great. The journey was on point from start to finish. We took a deep dive at the very beginning. Juan asked the right questions and showed me he was really into the project. He not only wanted the project to be successful for me, but for his own sake. He made it an intrinsic interest for himself. That's the energy you want with people working with, for and around you. Throughout the whole process, the communication was always at its best. Juan asked me for feedback and was always there when needed. Time differences = no problem. I had a lot of questions, and we circled a couple of times, but never because of poor quality, always to make the work even better than it was. The outcome is exceptional, outstanding! A brand guide which deserves that name, a prototype design that looks amazing. Juan, without you, my company would not have become what it is now. You will always be a part of it, and I am grateful for getting the chance to work with you. Thank you!"
